The Delivery Process for Custom Applications
Custom applications can be as simple or as complex as required. They will always be cost-effective, user-friendly, efficient and robust. A typical project would consist of the following stages:
- Initial consultation.
- Understanding the requirements and preparing a high level proposal outlining deliverable functionality, time scales and costs.
- Agreement in writing of the requirements, operating platform, deliverables, schedules, terms and costings.
- Client authorisation to proceed.
- Specifications, development, feedback, system testing, delivery and documentation.
- Collaboration with the client and, if required, third parties throughout.
- User acceptance testing.
- Training and ongoing support.
Of course, in reality the development process can be tailored to fit in with your own standards, procedures and requirements. Contact Egn Systems to find out more.
Agreement Documents
My normal working arrangement is to draw up a Master Services Agreement (MSA) for joint signature and to append Work Schedule Agreements (WSA) for each item of work to be carried out.
The MSA is an open-ended document that covers such general areas as the nature of the services, copyright, intellectual property rights, payment terms, liability, confidentiality, contract termination, etc. On its own, it does not commit the client to providing any work to Egn Systems. The WSA specifies the actual work to be carried out and covers supporting documentation, costs, delivery timescales, etc. This is governed by the terms of the MSA.
Draft copies can be provided on request.
Egn Systems is covered by Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
